Fire Destroys Guadalupe Home

Our Lady of Guadalupe Home after the fire.

The almost recently renovated Our Lady of Guadalupe Home for Girls’ building located in Cane End, Mesopotamia was destroyed by fire on Monday March 30 2020. The thirteen (13) girls and house mother all escaped unharmed.

The Home is the lone non-profit institution on mainland St. Vincent that focuses primarily on transforming the lives of suffering and abused young girls, by providing them with a safe housing and nurturing environment. It is owned and operated by the Roman Catholic Church.

The Board, on Wednesday, April 1, launched a donation appeal. They are seeking cash donations which can be made at the Kingstown Cooperative Credit Union (KCCU) Acc.#10003945. Contributions of other items can be delivered to:
St. Joseph’s Convent House, Fernside, Kingstown
Family Services, Paul’s Avenue
Sandra Davis, La Croix

Thank you to all the persons who have made generous contributions thus far. Let us continue to pray for the residents and staff of the Home as they face this tragic time.
