Letter from the Bishop – Congratulations St. Martin’s

2nd October 2020

Mr. Yohance Gibson,
The Principal
St. Martin’s Secondary School (SMSS)
Kingstown Park
St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Dear Mr. Gibson,

It is with great happiness that I write as Bishop of the Diocese of Kingstown and Chairman of the St. Martin’s School Board to congratulate you and your staff for the school’s outstanding performance having achieved a 94.48% in the 2020 CSEC Examinations.

It must be noted that this success came amidst the COVID-19 pandemic when schools were closed for several months. It is worth mentioning that through your initiative and foresight and the competence of the IT team that a platform for digital learning was already in place which was suitable to facilitate online teaching during that period. I also congratulate the students for having embraced the new method of learning.

The school owes much of this success to the past students both locally and abroad who so generously provided the devices so that no student would have been deprived of online teaching during the period when the schools were closed.

Please convey my heartiest congratulations to the successful students. It is a performance worth celebrating. Both students and teachers have made the school proud in achieving the second place in the CSEC Examinations for the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

May God continue to bless the school and the staff as they serve the Lord through teaching.

Yours sincerely,

+ Gerard County,
Bishop of Kingstown
